Happy Birthday Alice! - What to do for someones birthday

So - last Wednesday, it was Alices birthday. Alice is my manager but also a close friend. I thought i'd share with you all what we (the beauty team) bought her and what we did to celebrate. I love writing posts like this as it's like a diary for the world to see but I can also look back on good memories in the future.

We bought her some giraffe earrings because she loves giraffes! They are so flipping cute and they really suit her. She also let her pierced ears heal but not too long ago, had them re pierced so we thought this was fitting :)
We got her a cocktail making book - obvs.
Next, we bought a 'Vineyard candles' candle with the scent of prosecco. It's made from a recycled wine bottle so the glass is the bottom of a wine bottle and looks really cool. The packaging also looks really nice and expensive.
Finally, we bought her a Woody mug from the Disney Store. This was a funny but practical present. We have a team joke about this but also, she was in need of a new mug!

Sunflowers are her fave flower…

& we decorated her work desk with a million balloons, a banner and sprinkles.

Then in the evening, we went to play crazy golf! This is called the 'Lost City' in Nottingham and I have wanted to go since it opened. I don't ever remember playing crazy golf so I was super excited! I had such a good time - we all did. It's the perfect thing to do for someones birthday or just generally for something to do! It was £7.50 for the 18 hole course.

Then we moved on to Piccolino in Nottingham for drinks and food. I hadn't been here before. The actual restaurant is very sleek but also cosy which makes me happy as you might know, I love a cosy place! The atmosphere made me feel like I was abroad. The service was brilliant, although personally I felt they took a little too long to bring us the bill.

I had some kind of chicken with parma ham in the middle and some sort of breadcrumb coating on a bed of peppers. I really did enjoy it. The only downside was that I found the breadcrumbs a little too hard to eat easily but I don't think other people would have that issue. I would have liked a little more sauce too - I know this is a fancy smancy thing but it could still look nice with a little more sauce.

After food, we went to a bar called 'Das kino' which is just across the road from Piccolino.
Again, I really liked it in here as it was cosy but stylish. I haven't been to America but I felt like it had a similar feel and look to a New York bar or something.

And …

they have …

PING PONG >

They have, I think 3 ping pong tables. You have to book before hand I think (we did) and you get an allocated time slot. The pic above was Alice and Megan warming up! Just an FYI - never… play ping pong against Megan - she WILL take your head off!
Anyway, everything we did was perfect for celebrating her birthday - we all had a fab time!

-------------------------------------------

Finally, I thought because I'd mentioned Nottingham a lot that I would mention this on the end of this post. Last Friday, we had a team away day and we had a surprise location/activity that Alice had planned for us.
This surprise was a place called 'Escapologic' in Nottingham. They basically have 3 different themed rooms that you get locked in for an hour and have to escape. You have to solve the clues and get out in time! I was a little terrified as I get so scared of my own shadow. However, if I'd not have scared myself, I think we would have had a better chance of escaping! So with the picture below, you might have realised that none escaped their room!
We got split into 2 groups (you can choose your teams) - 1 group that didn't mind the dark & the other team were allocated a lighter room. I'm SO glad they warned us of a dark room because there is a 99% chance I could have heart attack when I'm scared!
So.. we went off into our room after the man briefed us and our first task was to find more light which I think starts it off really well. Of course I'm not going to spoil it for you by telling you what you have to do in the room, but I found it quite confusing to know what to do and I'm not sure how any one gets out to be honest, but it was really fun.
I basically terrified myself into thinking I didn't dare put my hand in anything in case something grabbed me! Or in case there were scary fake body parts or something in there haha. But I wanted to tell you there was nothing scary in the room we went in which I think was called Concoction. So you definitely don't have to be scared.
If you manage to crack it, the end to actually get out would be exciting! I wish we'd have done it! I now doubt myself as being the detective I thought I was! :(

This was brill as a team activity and would also just be fun to go with friends!

They have a 4th room coming hopefully sometime next year which sounds really good! But - scary! If people like to be scared, that room would be so good! I would love to watch it.

I would really recommend going if you like the sound of it!

I hope you enjoyed this! I know I will enjoy looking back on it! :)
